Your responsibilities

The scope of the Compliance Officer function includes the following tasks:

  • Assistance to the CCO in the identification and evaluation of the compliance risks associated with the Bank’s current and proposed future business;
  • Supervision and performance of compliance checks and controls as defined in the Compliance Monitoring Programme;
  • Ensures an adequate documentation level of client’s files and their compliance with regulatory requirements (AML, MiFID, FATCA, CRS etc.)
  • Identification of deficiencies, documentation of recommendations and implementations of corrective measures;
  • Assistance to the CCO in the identification and maintenance of an inventory of essential laws and regulations pertinent to the Bank’s activities;
  • Establishment and dissemination of written guidelines among staff members;
  • Advisory to the Chief Compliance Officer on Compliance matters and the applicable laws, regulations and standards;
  • Assessment of adequacy of internal policies, procedures and guidelines;
  • Monitoring adherence with internal policies, procedures and guidelines by performing risk assessments and reporting results on a regular basis to the CCO, Senior Management and/or the Board of Directors when deemed necessary;
  • Centralize all information related to any customer complaint, breach of regulations/procedures or conflicts of interest;
  • Education and advisory to staff with respect to Compliance matters.

 

Your profile :

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in a similar position;
  • Good understanding of the Private Banking/Corporate Financing business;
  • Fluency in English and French mandatory, fluency in Portuguese would be a strong asset
  • Very good analytical skills;
  • Good communicator – with colleagues / management / regulators;
  • Sense of discretion and confidentiality, with a calm demeanor;
  • Good knowledge of basic IT tools and techniques.
